Gay Pride March, Picasso and Robert Doisneau

I give three classes on Saturdays moorning, jumping and excersising with pregnant women, and babies, so usually by noon I'm tired and falling sleep, sometimes I do, but whenever I found the streng to keep going I go out with my boy, since Sundays is a dya of classes (he has guitar and chess) and that makes me feel like we never have free time to do things together.

So last Saturday I head to downtown not having a plan. As we pass in front of our National Theater, Bellas Artes, we got a free ticket to go to the exhibition and so we did.

We saw originals from Robert Doisneau printed by himself, a great documentary on the time the photographer David Douglas Duncan expent with Picasso and some very original work from the painter, such as metal and clay ones.

And also, the Gay Pride March was passing in front and we watch a little, but the sun was too shiny and my eyes could not bare it too long.

I leave you with not very good cell phone photos, since I didn't had my camera with me.

Indigenous Textile workshop for kids

Oaxaca

We had a workshop at my son's kinder yesterday. It was inspired by a very significant trip we had before leaving Mexico, we went to Oaxaca were we visit museums and just hang around the beautiful city together as a family, it was a good bye to Mexico.

San Agustín Etla

I have always be passionate about Indigenous textiles and so, inspired by all this and they day of the Cultures here in Costa Rica, I design a workshop to show kids about natural fibers, weaving and then they will make their own Huipil, using stamps to decorate, I enjoyed very much, because I love working with kids. My son was my little helper, and it was very nice to see how they all work, too bad I forgot the camera and only had the cell phone one, but the other pictures are from the trip to Oaxaca and I think they are very pretty.

I also bring lots of huipiles for them to see, try them on and feel, most of them embroidered.

I love how this very young girl worked, focus and happy.

This one is by a kid that sings while working, and there is a whole story here, there is a squirrel party, the line is the stair, and there are cakes. Then, on the other side he made that yellow figure, which is the bathroom, that makes complete sense to me, that is needed in a party.

Art exhibition

La merienda

Itzcóatl attends an art class, its beautiful and enriches him, he loves it, they have a snack in the middle of the class that he loves particulary.

Exposición de arte

Each week they produce some artwork, each has its history, and I love all of them and treasure them, but sometimes I have no where or how exhibit or at least keep them, especially those that are sculptural.

Exposición de arte

I finally found a solution for them, exposing the hinge of the exterior window, even when they are outside of the house, no one will take them, and is a pleasure watching them since we arrived and as we  enter our home, it's like a welcome.

Slowing down (a very long post)

I'm on those days of my women cycle when I really need to slow down.

My car broke, the rain starts at sunrise and hasn't stop and I'm tired, so we stay at home today, such a nice feeling of home rhythm.

On days like this I feel lucky of just having one son, and one so independent, responsible and comprehensive, who would let me nap in the middle of the afternoon and would be safe.

Along with a cold weather, knitting and crocheting mood came back, and so I got back to Hew, and started this beautiful acorn. It's the first time I decide to try to follow a crochet pattern, which has always scare me a bit. It's going well.

Tejiendo

I would say one of the most important things when working on the round is to know exactly which was your first stitch, so I just put a contrasting yarn on it, changing it every round.

Then, when I came to a part were all rounds are the same, I just leave it there and make knots to count the rounds.

I'm designing an art supplies wall (similar to the kitchen wall) for my son, I think is so important for him to have access to all of it, in a organized way and to be able to see everything at once. There is also a music wall were I will placed copies of the moment favorites, so he will be able to play them himself and get in the mood of choice.

Pared del arte

This is how our stars came.

I peeled the coffee beans today and I'm waiting for them to dry so I can toast them.

I was so proud today when we were reading a story and he said, how cold be written CUIDADO in here if there is no O?

I feel a little scare when it rains and rains without stop, because I have seen the disasters that may cause. And the nearest river is not really far.

I forgot to share with you this bingo bag I made, it has work wonders on waiting places.
