My cake business

I haven't share here that I have a cake business, I started it out of desperation for trying to get some money for food a month or so after I got fired from my Internet job.

I went well, I sold them at in and out of the school of my boy, now I'm trying to place them in coffee shops or something.

It's called Cakes on Wheels, and I carved my logo to print the paper bags. We use the city public bikes.

I started with a win-win, brownie, and went adding new flavors.

First orange with yougurt, then caramel with nuts, also one of amaranth flour with blue berries, banana, integral with sunflower seeds and rice flour with coconut oil.

I would carry them around in little basket. And with time I started to make chocolates, granola and nut mixes.

I hope to find a way to continue selling them because even without paying the private school we still need the income.

I do everything in a little electrical oven and I was considering the idea of making a little e-book, they are all easy and delicious, and I have a few gluten free options, since I have celiac disease.

Any thoughts?

Fast food :: Fast party

Tejido

I really like to have the two versions of my blog, in Spanish and English, but it's taking me forever to write in both languages, so I decided to try something different and make audio posts in English, my English is not excellent (written or spoken), but this way it's easier, so let me know if you like it, thanks.

This and that

I have not sleep enough because I have to finish some bolsters for yoga, I should have done it earlier, but this is the kind of work I don't enjoy much, to repeat and repeat like a sushi robot.

Anyway, I didn't have much on the house to make lunch today. Mu mom gave me her juice extractor so I had some carrot pulp and I wanted to use it. So I mix it with eggs little potatoes, zuchini, grated cheese, rosemary, oregano and salt in a oven glass container.
In a pan I cook a little some chopped onion, garlic and peppers on olive oil and add that too.

Revoltijo

And the the I cook it in the oven for 20-30 minutes, it end up very well.

Quiché de verduras

And, since I already had the oven hot I made some brownies with almond pulp left form the other day's milk.

Almuerzo

It was delicious.

There's nothing like the satisfaction of eating something good for your body, healthy, made by you, it just produces happiness.

Today we started to make pizza from scratch, we use this precious recipe book that also has songs, stories, instructions for building a oven and important information about the effect bread can have on children. I liked the idea from the book that says: the best way to welcome people in your home is with the smell of fresh bread, and everyone will be comfortable, happy and will feel nurtured.

La pizza casera

Another very important thing is the importance of involving children in the preparation of food, and although I do so often, it's wonderful every time.

It may take longer, but allow us to take a slower pace calm and enjoy and digest better. But the way in which children are involved, see their enthusiasm and pride, and then see how well they eat any vegetables (like eggplant used here) is wonderful, I have not see before my kid eating at such a good speed, without being distracted and left the plate clean.

La pizza

Then he had a streak of happiness, saying a thousand times You have no idea how happy I am, mom. He said that when he grew up he wanted to make pizza for all our friends by himself and then told his grandmother on the phone with pride.

Healthy habits

I have had a long ugly pain is on the side, thought it was a hernia, they thought it was a bond, they thought it was loose bowel, and they don't seemed to be clear about it, I hate that from the doctors.
Began over a year and sometimes is unbearable, very strong and not fade throughout the day, a couple of days ago suddenly disappeared and I spent like 4 days without pain, nothing. First I was scared, then I enjoyed it.
Now it's back but lighter. What changed?, I'm not sure, but it gets worse with sadness and digestion.
Although it is difficult, I want to improve my health habits, I know it will make a big difference, everyone will have to find their own, but for me this is the most important:

Sleep well and enough.

I always want to do things at night, I concentrate better and I can continue to run with the same without interruption, but I noticed that my personality is affected and is completely different in periods when I'm sleeping 10 hours each night rather than 7 or less, they are not enough for me.
Not to eat the things that hurt me and keep a consistent schedule.

In my opinion (informed), no one should not eat dairy, no other animal is taken milk from another species, and is food that is naturally fortified to help growing infants, adults are not growing. But having said that, beyond the level of environmental responsibility who want to take the matter of were your food came, everyone has their own intolerances, and yet sometimes we fall and fall again with this tempting dish, but why?, if we know what comes next. We also all know that what is very processed, fried or refined sugar is bad but these effects are not immediately perceive. And another important point, but difficult to do the same number of meals each day and at the same time, to not have an schedule harms me a lot.
Be quiet

Again, difficult but possible. We must remove from our environment all stressors and then learn to not feel guilty about it, not to I have no formal work, as everyone expects of me, not to see much my family if they dislike me, despise social commitment.
Clean-Simplicity.

It is easier to be calm, if everything is in order, but it is very difficult to have order if there is too much stuff, we really do not need it , neither our children, so many toys, so much plastic, and it all ends in the trash, at sea, a river, on the banks of the poorest neighborhoods, stuck in the strainer. And it all starts with acquiring or accepting, that is buying or receiving things from others, in this sense I made a resolution that will share soon.
Minewhile the homemade pizza we did today and I will talk about tomorrow.

Day of the dead food

When we, Mexican celebrate anything, usually the celebration will include buzz, music and very complicated dishes, because Mexican cuisine is related with holidays and viceversa. Day of the dead is not an exception, so we have different kinds of bread of the dead, "alfeñique" (some kind of hard candy), "mole" (a very complicated sauce with turkey or chicken), "calabaza en tacha" (pumpkin boiled with cane sugar) and, of course skulls in sugar, chocolate and "amaranto" seed. So I found one recipe for the bread but I haven't try it yet, I will include because it is already in English, but I warn you.
I will write more about this later.

1 taza de azúcar 1 cup of sugar
3 cucharadas soperas de agua de azahar 3 Tbs. of anise water
1 cucharada sopera de raspadura de naranja 1 Tbs. grated orange peel
2 huevos para barnizar 2 eggs for the glaze
1 pizca de sal 1 pinch of salt

1. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water, add 1/2 cup of flour and make a little ball of soft dough. Leave it 15 minutes in a warm place until it grows double the size.
2. Sift the flour with the salt and the sugar; make a hole and put in 3 eggs, 5 yolks, the margarine, the grated orange peels and the anise water. Mix well.
3. Add the yeast mixture. Knead again and leave in a warm place for one hour until it doubles in size.
4. Knead again. Make the bread the size you want and put in greased pans.
5. Stir the 2 eggs in preparation for basting and attaching the bones and tears.
6. Decorate with forms of bones and tears made with the same dough and attach with beaten egg mixture. Baste the bread with eggs and sprinkle with sugar.
7. Bake the loaves in the preheated oven on medium heat for 30 or 40 minutes. Take them out and let them cool.
