I'm not sure if you can find dry shrimp outside Mexico, but here is very common. So I tought I'll just share a quick recipe.
Dry Shrimp Soup
It is nutritious, cheap and delicious.
Ingredients
a bit of onion
3 large garlic cloves or 7 small
bay leaves
ground white pepper
sea salt
a pound of tomatoes
a pinch of thyme
a pinch of ground chile morita in olive oil (if you want it spicy)
Chop all the ingredients above and fry over low heat with olive oil.
Blend, return to pot.
a quarter of dried shrimp (they are only about 8 large ones)
5 carrots
5 potatoes
3 large or 5 medium nopales
a bunch of spinach
Chop and add to the tomato sauce.
Add water to fill the pot.
Raise the heat to high simmer.
Serve with chopped avocado.
Enjoy!

This and that
I have not sleep enough because I have to finish some bolsters for yoga, I should have done it earlier, but this is the kind of work I don't enjoy much, to repeat and repeat like a sushi robot.
Anyway, I didn't have much on the house to make lunch today. Mu mom gave me her juice extractor so I had some carrot pulp and I wanted to use it. So I mix it with eggs little potatoes, zuchini, grated cheese, rosemary, oregano and salt in a oven glass container.
In a pan I cook a little some chopped onion, garlic and peppers on olive oil and add that too.
And the the I cook it in the oven for 20-30 minutes, it end up very well.
And, since I already had the oven hot I made some brownies with almond pulp left form the other day's milk.
It was delicious.
It's been very hot and sunny around here these days, so I look like I went to the beach.

I continue to work also on the Art Wall on which all the order of my living room depends, but it's a long project.
What about you?, what have you been doing?

Ice cream update
The other day I gave an Ice cream recipe in my blog (on the Spanish version but in English it's here), and it didn't turn out very well, it tasted well but didn't felt like ice cream, it seams that I dint mix the milk enough, so I tried again and took a picture of how I think it supposed to look, we will see if it turns out better.
On the other hand I have been reading every day the posts of the Handmade Holidays on the Sew, Mama, Sew blog, and I found this great tutorial and I decide to try it on my dad's birthday present, he is a University professor and travels a lot so I think it would be nice to have this around with his family pictures on it (I printed them at Spoonflower).
I also have been working in a book stand for the kitchen,
And we made some Christmas cards for our Mexico friends.
This is the one my son made for himself, I loved how he hug it.
How is your Christmas prep going?

Recovery juice
On Sunday night I went out, my couple stays with my kid and I went to the get groceries, and enjoyed very much. I have no family in Mexico and I'm a single mom, so we don't have any contact with his father family, and he is not going to school right now, so, I don't get much solitary time, I don't think I need a lot, but a little isn't bad, singing Bob Marley while choosing fruits I found a Californian Pomegranate, larger than Mexican ones, and I tought why not? (usually I just buy local products).

I got a lot of apples to include in the recovery diet for my son and then I got the idea of making apple and pomegranate juice (jus 4 scoops of sugar, a quarter of pomegranate, 3 small apples and water in a blender) and I have to tell I'm getting adict to it, it's just great. I also save the pulp to give him as a puree with raisins.
