Yarn Along, One hundred years of solitude

Yarn Along it's a day of the week to share what you are knitting and reading created by Ginny, you can add your post here every Wed. or to the flickr group any day.

My son is in need of a warm sweater for winter, so I let him pick a pattern, he liked this one for the pirate related thing with the skull, I like it because it has a hoodie, it's a free pattern, and it seams like is wide and can last a year, or at least I'm hoping that, this is the larger project I have ever made, I don't have black wool yarn so I will be using brown instead, details here.

Yarn Along

I'm rereading One hundred years of solitude by Gabriel García Márquez, I recommend it very much, it's incredible.

That looks like a lovely warm sweater - the colours are perfect.
Enjoy the making.

Looks like a great sweater, and I think knitting it with brown yarn will probably be more enjoyable than black anyway ;)

That is a cool pattern, I think your brown and cream version will look great, and maybe knit a little easier too?

love the project but let me say, 100 years of solitude is my most favortie book of all time followed by Love in the time of cholera, also by Garcia Marquez. It completely sweeps you up into that world of love and tragedy and life. thank you so much for sharing.

I agree- brown can be a lot nicer than black because black hides stitches!

I've been wanting to read 100 Years in Spanish too! My Spanish isn't great, but I think reading a book I've already read in English would make it easier on me and I LOVE that book.
